AKEL's Protest against the anticommunist law in Poland AKEL, Cyprus June 09, 2010 http://www.akel.org.cy , InterBureau@akel.org.cy Comrades, AKEL along with the organizations of the Popular Movement have organized yesterday, 8th of June, a protest outside the Polish Embassy in Nicosia regarding the new legislation in Poland that bans the communist symbols. A resolution was submitted by the Parliamentary Representative of AKEL c. Nicos Katsourides to the Embassy, addressing to the Prime Minister of Poland, and calls for the termination of the implementation of the relative law. Unfortunately, no one came on behalf of the Embassy to receive it although they were informed on time about the protest and were called to come and receive it. The overall outcome of the protest was very positive since a significant number of people attended on it and it was covered efficiently by the media.
