CPB against Anti-Communist Legislation

To all members of the Communist Party of Poland

Dear Comrades,

We express our solidarity and greetings to all members and leadership of the Communist Party of Poland for your courageous struggle against the Polish legislation which will seek to ban the emblems of the international Communist movement in your country.

We salute your bravery in opposing this legislation and in defying the attempts by right-wing and anti-democratic forces to equate Communism with Fascism.

It is clearly a conspiracy carried out by right-wing and anti-democratic forces of Europe and their godfather US imperialism, the heinous enemy of mankind. Their main target is to erase the glory of Communists from history. It is evident in the history of human civilization that Communists were the most consistent and courageous opponents of fascism. Communists’ fought against Nazi military machine all over the world. Also peace-loving people of the world still remember the contribution of the then United Soviet Socialist Republic, Red Army and also the contribution of communists from different countries who fought fascism by carrying the emblem of communism.

This attack from the right-wing forces of Poland comes from the bankruptcy of capitalist philosophy, which Karl Marx explained long years back. It comes at a time when the capitalist system is in acute crisis and when it is demanding unprecedented attacks on the employment, working conditions and livelihoods of all workers. In this crisis only socialism can offer a solution that respects the dignity of working people and our ability to take responsibility for our own lives.

On behalf of people of Bangladesh and Communist Party of Bangladesh we condemn this fascist and undemocratic legislation. This legislation is a serious violation of articles 18 and 19 of the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. 

We call upon all Communist, progressive and democratic forces of the world to raise their voice against this autocratic step.

Your struggle to defend this future is a struggle for all Communists and for humanity itself.
